It's been just over a month since OpenAI dropped its long-awaited GPT-5 large language model (LLM) — and somehow, it's still a complete dud. From the AI experts at the Discovery Institute's Walter Bradley Center for Artificial Intelligence to irked Redditors and even OpenAI CEO Sam Altman himself, there's little argument at this juncture that GPT-5 is nowhere near the "PhD-level intelligence that the company boasted upon its launch in August.
