Scientists in China have transplanted a lung from a genetically modified pig into a human for the first time. As detailed in a paper published in the journal Nature, the team of researchers transplanted the lung into the body of a 39-year-old male, who had previously been declared brain-dead, in May of last year at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.
